- Area of Professional Interest
- Professor Wicks' special interests include; community tourism development and festivals and special event management. He has served as the Co-founding Editor of Festival Management and Event Tourism and serves on the President's Council and Foundation Board for the International Festivals and Events Association. He has recently launched agritourism projects to help farm families direct-market their products to tourists.
- Research Interests
- Professor Wick’s is currently studying the use and implementation of educational technologies in the university environment and serves on the Educational Technology Board for the Urbana campus.
