Department of Recreation, Sport and Tourism

Alumni Advisory Board

Members

In 1993, the Department of Recreation, Sport, and Tourism Alumni Advisory Board was established. The Advisory Board consists of 12 members representing the various sectors of the parks, recreation, sport and tourism field. Each member serves a 3-year term. The primary purposes of the Board are: to promote public awareness and support the mission, goals and services of the Department; to promote University support for maintaining a premier Recreation, Sport, and Tourism Department; to aid in recruiting students; to continually review the academic degree program ;to participate in fund-raising efforts in support of the Department; to cultivate cooperative ventures with parks, recreation, sport and tourism providing agencies and businesses in the State; to build and enhance relationships with alumni and friends of the department; and to assist in setting Department goals. As a result of Board activities, the Department has been able to strengthen its relationship with practitioners and policy makers in the state.
